I started making my own candles for a totally selfish reason – I was tired of spending money on uninteresting fragrances in cheap vessels.
As you can probably guess, I adore a good candle. They can transform a space, creating a wonderful ambiance with their soft flicker. A candle can uplift a mood, enveloping you with a scent that takes you on a journey through your fondest memories. And they make the perfect gift for any occasion (even if the gift is for you, and the occasion is “treat yo’self”).
After gifting and burning through a great deal of subpar candles, I wanted to create a candle that lived up to my standards, with rich and interesting scents, clean ingredients, and lovely vessels that inspire repurposing or re-use. I wanted to be able to give my loved ones a candle that I believed in, one that would truly delight them.

Custom Candles
As I went down the rabbit hole of testing scents, it dawned on me that this part of the journey – the unique blending of fragrances – could be a collaborative moment. Why weren’t custom candles a thing? You can choose flavors for a cake. Monogramming on a leather good. So why not custom candles? It just made scents.
Here at Made Scents Candles, you can choose your own adventure. If you have a particular scent combination that thrills you, but can’t be found at the store, let’s see if we can make it happen! Or, if you have a loved one who you’d like to send a thoughtful gift to, send me a note with some key words you would use to describe them, and I can use my imagination to craft a custom candle based on those words. And if you simply want to purchase a high-quality, well-loved scent, we have a Signature Scent Collection to choose from as well. Whichever candle type you desire, all are lovingly hand-poured in Atlanta, GA by yours truly.
